Karen Sanders, Lindsey Sommers, and Kimberly Brandt sat at the kitchen table in the Sommers’ kitchen, looking at magazines and drinking sodas. They were practically inseparable and were always found hanging out at which ever house had the best snacks or was most convenient. At age twelve, they were becoming interested in boys and the hottest boys were still found in the teen magazines that each spent a good portion of their allowance money on.
Lindsey and Kim had been friends since they were toddlers and since Karen’s family moved to town a month or so ago, she joined the two and largely thanks to her, they were also becoming interested in witchcraft. Karen was actually a third-generation witch, or as she preferred to be called Wiccan. In fact, her grandmother was actually a Wiccan priestess at the temple where she used to live, about 20 miles Northeast of her new home.
The three thought it was interesting and felt they had to look the part. The two non-witches began copying Karen’s wardrobe, much to their parents’ dismay, which consisted mainly of black leather outfits, and heavy dark makeup. Bright red lip gloss and purple or green eye shadow along with dark eyeliner. In addition to looking dangerous, each thought it made them look older.
